A Little Bit of Ramble

Hey guys! I'm pretty much convinced no one even reads this at this point, but hi if you do! I don't really have anything specific to talk about today, but I wanted to write so here we are. Well, recently I've been psyching myself out about college. I don't know exactly what it is, but I've been really anxious whenever I start thinking about the fact that at this time next year I'll be on my own in a whole new place. It's a pretty terrifying thought. Plus, I've kind of been questioning my college decision lately.  I still love the thought of going to NAU, and more than likely that is where I'll end up. But more and more lately I've been looking at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) and what they offer and it also seems like a good choice. The problem is, it's out of state. That means a) it will be harder to come home for holidays and things and b) it will be more expensive. So that's been causing a fair amount of stress. I'm not ...

New School Year!

Hello again! I'm sorry I keep going so long without writing, but I'm obviously trying to keep this focused on college type stuff and not just my rambling. But the new school year is under way, and it's my last year before college! I am so excited for senior year, and so far it's going well. The classes I'm in right now are: 1) English 101 2) AP Government & Politics 3) Early Childhood Education 4) Anatomy I do have two other classes, but they aren't core/academic classes, so I didn't include them. My English and Early Childhood classes are eligible for Dual Enrollment, so I've been working on the paperwork to get credit for them. I'm all about saving money and not having to take as many classes when I actually get to college next year. So far, my classes are extremely interesting and fun. I get along with all of my teachers, which is obviously a good thing. I am also getting involved in more extracurriculars and enjoying those as well. ...

Long Time No See

Hello, readers of my blog! I realize that I haven't posted anything recently, and that's mostly because I'm not sure what there is for me to post. The only update in my college life is that the actual letter of acceptance from NAU came, which was exciting. It came with little NAU confetti and it was super cute. It also mentioned that it's based on my completion of senior year, and when to send in my official transcript. It also mentioned that I have to pay $350 (I cry it's already getting expensive) to secure my place and send them shot records (because there are certain shots all students are required to have). Not gonna lie, even though I knew what it was I cried when I read it. This is something I've been looking forward to for so long so it was really exciting to see for real. In other news, I get my AP scores on Saturday!! I'm hoping I got a 4 or 5, as from what I could see from NAU's website, that's the score I need to get any credit. I then n...

Applications + Already Accepted??

Image
Hello friends! I'm finally back and I'm gonna actually get into real life college business. So, I've actually already applied for my dream college (which is Northern Arizona University). They emailed me a few weeks ago telling me I'd been selected to apply early (but I think anyone can apply right now... it's not like the application is closed or secret or anything). So, I looked through it and honestly it was pretty simple. I didn't have to write any essays or anything. What took the most time was honestly just adding in all the classes that I've taken and the ones I plan to take my senior year. You do have to send an official transcript, but they will tell you when to do that. Also, there was a part to add SAT and/or ACT scores. However, I haven't taken mine yet. I talked to an online admissions representative and they said to select that I didn't want to report scores and that I can just send them after I take my SAT. When I was signing up for th...

Introductions!

Hello readers! My name is Leslie, and in a couple of months I will begin my senior year. This means I have started the process of getting ready for COLLEGE! For as long as I can remember, college has been my dream. I have known what college I want to attend and what I want to study since my freshman year. I've created this blog in hopes that I can help others with their journey in getting ready for college and their experience once they are there. I will take you through the application process, financial aid, picking colleges, dorms, and classes, as well as navigating the college life (once I make it there myself!). Also, I will be starting a YouTube channel, and when I do that I'll be sure to put it on here so you guys can get even more college info! I hope you enjoy this blog and it helps you in some way. If you'd like to see anything specifically, please let me know!
